Novi Democratic Club

March Membership Meeting

Tuesday, March 17, 6:30 – 8:00 pm

Vote for your candidate in our club Mock Nominating Convention March 17! We will have a mock election for the Democratic nominee to the offices of Michigan Attorney General (Karen McDonald or Eli Savit), and Michigan Secretary of State ( Barb Byrum or Garlin Gilcrist, or Suzanna Shkreli).  Let’s discuss the candidates and prepare for the actual convention on April 19 in Detroit!  Will Novi predict the actual outcome?!

We meet at Ironworkers Local 25 (25150 Trans X Rd, Novi, MI 48375).  Coffee provided;  cookie donations welcome.

No Kings - Rally at Grand River & Novi Rd

Saturday, March 28, 1:00 – 3:00 pm

PLEASE be respectful of local businesses and leave parking places near entrances for their customers!

We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Summer/Fall HS Internship

Applications due March 27

We are now accepting applications for the Novi Dems’ 2026 Summer/Fall Internship Program. The program runs from May until November and is available to any high school student who is a resident of Novi.

Interns will get an up-close view of their government in action, interact with elected officials, learn how to effect positive change, and expand their knowledge of the Democratic Party’s principles and inner workings.

The James Gualdoni Scholarship was created last year in honor of Jim’s dedication to Democratic values and his commitment to progressive activism. The scholarship is open to graduating High School seniors who reside in Novi or Novi Twp.  The application deadline is Wednesday, March 11.
